About the Seminar
Hosted by Joel Smith
This 1-Day seminar will cover the biomechanics, motor learning principles, and essential strength elements of explosive athletic movement.
Each yearly seminar features new and fresh information, relative to previous years. This year’s focus will feature 3D strength and plyometric training, updated speed training methods, tension-inhibition release, and advanced motor learning concepts
- Principles of Neural and Structural Overload in Training
- Principles of Dynamic Coordination Training in Common Explosive Skills
- Bio Psycho Social Considerations in Athletic Development
- Principles and Biomechanics of Acceleration and Upright Running
- Principles and Biomechanics of Standing and Running Jumps
- Principles of Swinging and Throwing
- Acceleration Development
- Standing and Running Jump Mechanics
- Plyometric Exercises
- Medicine Ball Training
- Oscillatory Lifting Principles
I, along with our entire staff, made the trip to Ohio to attend Joel’s seminar in December 2022. Immediately we were impressed and excited with the content – especially the acceleration content. The seminar was a great blend of classroom-style learning and hands-on demonstration. We were able to utilize many of the principles we learned at the seminar, along with the Elastic essentials online course, to produce some very exciting results for our teams – especially football.
We have seen an increase from 2 players to 14 players running sub .95 seconds in a flying 10yd, along with an average decrease of .12sec in a 10-yard dash across our entire team. We largely attribute these numbers to the content and principles learned through these courses.
I strongly recommend any coach or performance specialist invest in this seminar – You won’t regret it! Ryan Henry, Associate Director of Sports Performance, Carson Newman University
