Which Strength/Fitness Sport Should I Participate In???

It seems like everyone likes to freak out over questions such as: “Is Crossfit good”, or “what is better, powerlifting or Olympic lifting”. My answer is, “who cares!!”, people should pick the mode of competitive exercise that they enjoy and leave it at that. Let’s not turn things into a war; after all, we like to argue about exercise the way people argue about politics or religion, and eventually it gets old!
People will often pick a particular mode of exercise based on their level of strength, build, autonomy, insecurities, prior successes, prior exposure, or need for social support to name a few. Typically, we end up doing what we are good at…. or at least what we think we are good at in order to truly find our sense of self. We then season our belief system with confirmation biases, some “us” vs. “them” thinking, and a closed mind and pretty soon our type of exercise is the best thing out there!
The fact is, I think there might be some people out there who are struggling to find the strength and fitness path that they need to take to lead them to their personal fitness destiny.
